Retrochrome Capsule (Aug 2019)

This capsule overall is inspired on the concept of retrofuturism. If you’re not familiar with retrofuturism it’s an art form that shows influence or depictions upon what the future will look like just from an earlier era of time. This concept overall has become one of my favorite forms of creative arts. Mainly because of the many different forms within the art that have been created and are still being created. The colorism blend is highly attractive within this form of art. I appreciate the common neon blend. Im more of a fan of the mixing of random colors I necessarily wouldn’t think to put together. The theme itself is self explanatory; Retro - meaning a design from the past. Futurism - meaning anticipation upon future trends, events art etc.... The perfect blend of past, present and future. 

Each piece in this capsule is a representation upon what I imagined Basics would look like if it was created in 2044. A perfect blend of the past & present. The special VVS thread on the corduroy cap reminds me of all my old football trophies & holographic cards I used to collect. That holographic glow where they engraved your name was by far the best part of the whole trophy or at least the most memorable. The chrome design t-shirt is just an overall classic. This piece speaks futuristic. So many different emotions within the design. I know everyone will have a different comparison b/c everyone grew up differently. Somehow though all the comparisons will fall under the same category; retrofuturism. The 3M reflective location logo shorts are my favorite piece in this capsule. A suttle flex. The 3M reflective print was necessary to make the piece fit in with everything else. All the other product have some type of shine or chrome look too it so the 3M reflective print on the shorts made everything perfect.

The blend of the past, present & future. I love the fact that we all have our own interoperation of what the future holds. Originally I was supposed to do one more scene for this photoshoot. Just due to the timing it wasn’t able to be completed. I wanted to rent a Tesla model because I believe it was the perfect representation upon how far evolved with technology. All the features of the car show futurism. A Tesla is a perfect depiction upon what we thought a self driving car would look be like 5-7 years ago. It has become my dream car solely based off the technology invested into it. It being electric makes it great for the environment and all. Hopefully as we grow in the future all car brands start making electric models. It’ll make an huge impact on the environment for our children’s futures.
